How to Measure Your Bra Size at Home

How to Measure Your Bra Size at Home

At Posheedah, we believe that the foundation of true elegance is an immaculate fit. While we meticulously curate our collections for professional quality and visual clarity, the ultimate comfort depends on you finding your unique measurements.

Most women are wearing the wrong size, often sacrificing support. It’s time to change that. Grab a soft measuring tape, and let's get you measured.

Phase 1: Preparation is Key

To get the most accurate results, you’ll need:

A Soft Fabric Measuring Tape: (Do not use metal construction tape!)

A Mirror: Helpful for ensuring the tape is level.

A Non-Padded Bra: Wear your thinnest, most supportive bra (or no bra at all, if you feel comfortable).

Ensure you are relaxed, standing upright, and breathing naturally.

Phase 2: The Two Essential Measurements

This is the core process of finding your size.

Step 1: Find Your Band Size

This measurement is taken around your torso, directly where the bra band sits. The band is the main source of support, so getting this right is critical.

Action: Wrap the measuring tape around your back and bring it together in the front, just underneath your breasts where the wire sits. The tape should be snug and perfectly parallel to the ground.

The Check: If the measurement is an odd number (e.g., 33 inches), you may need to try adjacent band sizes, depending on your preferred level of snugness (e.g., trying a 32 or a 34). If it's an even number (e.g., 34 inches), this is your likely band size.

Step 2: Find Your Bust Size

This measurement determines your cup size.

Action: Now, move the tape up to the fullest part of your bust. For many women, this will be across the nipples. Do not pull the tape tight. It should just touch you. Make sure the tape is level across your back.

The Check: Breathe naturally. If you fall on a half-measurement (e.g., 36.5 inches), round up to the nearest whole number (e.g., 37 inches).

Phase 3: The Calculation

Now that you have your Band Size and your Bust Size (rounded to whole numbers), you can calculate your cup volume.

Bust Size (Measurement from Step 2) MINUS Band Size (Measurement from Step 1) = Difference in Inches.

The Cup Size Chart:

Your cup size corresponds to the difference between these two numbers:

1 inch difference = A Cup

2 inches difference = B Cup

3 inches difference = C Cup

4 inches difference = D Cup

5 inches difference = DD / E Cup

6 inches difference = DDD / F Cup

(And so on, adding one cup letter for every additional inch).

Your final size is [Your Band Size] + [The Calculated Cup Letter].

Step 4: The Final Check (The "Fit Audit")

You have your calculated size, but we prioritize a "super doper" professional experience, which means the fit must feel perfect, not just look mathematically correct. When you try on your new size, ask yourself:

Is the band parallel? It should sit level around your back without riding up (too loose) or digging into your skin (too tight).

Are the wires flush? If your bra has wires, they should sit perfectly flat against your ribs without touching any breast tissue.

Is there spillage or gapping? Your breasts should sit smoothly inside the cups. Spillage over the top/sides means the cups are too small. Gapping means they are too big.

Finding your perfect fit is a private ritual that empowers you from the first layer. Measure every six months, as bodies naturally change.

Now that you have your perfect size, experience the exquisite comfort of Posheedah’s collections, designed for the professional visibility you deserve.
